New York firm buys Disney World hotel for more than $301,000 PER ROOM


A new YorkNew York-based real estate group just bought a resort hotel in southeastern Disney Property for just over $120 million.

Tishman, a real estate giant based in new Yorkbought the Wyndham Grand Orlando Appeal Bonnet Creek on Monday, March 28, 2022, for $120.5 million. The handsome Resort Hotel property has 400 rooms, meaning the property group paid just over $301,000 per guest Hallaccording to Orange County records obtained by The Orlando Business Journal.

The Orlando Business Journal reports that this is not the first purchase made by the Tishman Real Estate group in the central florida Marlet. Tishman owns other properties in Orlando, including the Swan and dolphin resort hotels on Walt disney World goodsas well as the new Swan Reserve Hotel and others.

The price of $301,000 per guest Hall to Wyndham Grand Orlando Appeal Bonnet Creek may seem astronomical, but it pales in comparison to an even bigger Orlando hotel purchase that took place in 2021 when a Maryland-based group called Host Hotels and Resorts Inc. purchased the Four Seasons Resort Orlando. The company paid $610 million for the property, which has approximately 435 guest rooms.

According to the CEO of Visit OrlandoCassandra Matej, Orlando’s average hotel occupancy increased from March 2022. The hospitality industry has plunged in many parts of the country due to the impacts of low travel numbers and pandemic-related closures of COVID-19.

Compared to the start of the pandemic in 2022, the week of March 13, 2022 to March 19, 2022 saw a 90.5% increase in hotel occupancy.
