JLL will move to The Grove, create the future of office workspace


Phoenix’s leading brokerage firm, JLL, has announced that it will expand and relocate its Arizona headquarters to The Grove, a $400 million mixed-use destination being developed by RED Development in the United States. northwest corner of 44and Street and Camelback Road, in the heart of Phoenix’s Camelback Corridor.

Under the lease, JLL will occupy 31,000 square feet on the first floor of The Grove’s Class AA office building, located at 4300 E. Camelback Road. Scheduled for delivery in the third quarter of 2022, the five-story, 180,000-square-foot building will sit alongside other project amenities, including a boutique hotel, upscale restaurants and retail, and luxury residences, also in construction on site.

Following guidance from its own research, such as Shaping the Future of Work and Shaping the Human Experience, JLL will build its new Arizona office with equipment and technology, recognizing the power of the office to create a sense of community, support employee productivity and fill gaps in collaboration, leadership and management caused by workplace disruptions related to COVID-19.

The new space will bring together more than 120 JLL professionals with expertise in office, industrial, retail, multifamily, healthcare, data center, capital markets, property management and project development services (PDS). It is the next step in the company’s more than 22 years in the Valley, founded locally in 2000 as The Staubach Company and purchased by JLL in 2008, establishing a JLL Phoenix office and introducing the vast resources of the JLL network, one of the leading real estate services companies.

The Grove is a creative, sophisticated, mixed-use campus that includes more than 180,000 square feet of Class AA office space, a boutique hotel by restaurateur Sam Fox, luxury residences, and dining and retail venues unique high-end retail.

According to a study by JLL, 74% of employees agree that the ability to get to the office remains fundamental, and 70% of office workers consider the office to be a key factor in connecting with colleagues, solving problems, managing teams and align with leadership. JLL’s research also notes that one in two employees consider socializing spaces essential to their office experience.

Each of these data points is translated into a physical outcome in JLL’s new office, designed by RSP Architects and led by JLL’s Project and Development departments. It begins with a collaborative “entrance experience” in the lobby and continues with large and small conference “meeting zones” and freestanding workstations. All work areas are fully powered and ready to plug in, giving employees balance, options, choice and control over how they want to work on any given day.

An open-concept “workcafé” sits at the edge of the office plan, lined with floor-to-ceiling windows. This creates an indoor/outdoor connection with a large patio featuring dining and dining areas, collaborative seating and games. The Grove office building also has its own rooftop lounge with pickleball court, outdoor garden and pavilion, full kitchen, and direct views of Camelback Mountain.

Upon completion, The Grove will total over 15 acres and 750,000 square feet comprising three Class AA office buildings, an internationally inspired boutique hotel – The Global Ambassador – by restaurateur Sam Fox, restaurants and retail high-end retail and 58 luxury residences by StreetLights Residential.

JLL is expected to move into its new space at The Grove in the fall of 2022.
