The walled city of Derry was showcased in New York at an event organized by Tourism Ireland, according to a statement posted on the Tourism Ireland website.
Visit Derry representatives traveled to New York with tourism partners the Bishop’s Gate Hotel, City Hotel and Walled City Brewery to promote Derry, according to the statement on TourismIreland.com, which also noted that guests included New York-based travel and lifestyle journalists. , tour operators and meeting organisers, and that the event coincided with the New York stopover of the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race, and offered the opportunity to highlight the Foyle Maritime Festival, which returns next month and will host the Clipper Round once again the World Yacht Race.
